Privacy policy

This page explains what data Ruyaa collects and why. We collect as little as possible.

Account data

When you create an account we store your name, e-mail and your password hashed with Argon2 (we cannot read it). If you sign up with Google we store only your Google account ID, name, e-mail and picture.

Your activity on the platform

We store your interests, saved stories, source and notification preferences. If you are signed in we record the stories you read to improve your “For you” ranking; you can turn this off in settings.

Statistics

We count story views, shares, clicks to sources and search terms to learn what matters to readers. These statistics store neither your IP address nor your device type, and search terms are not linked to your account.

Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies only: your sign-in session, a form-protection (CSRF) token, and your language and theme preference. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Third parties

Story images load from the original publishers' servers, fonts from Google Fonts and map tiles from OpenStreetMap; these parties may see your IP address when loading, as with any website.

Retention

Detailed statistics are deleted automatically after 180 days; expired sessions and reset tokens are deleted once expired.

Your rights

You can edit your data and preferences in settings at any time, and ask us to delete your account and its data via the contact page.
